What's the difference between 'Application' and 'Registration'?
You apply to attend a CU*iP conference, then you are directed to a nearby CU*iP site. The site reviews your application and you are accepted or declined. After you have been accepted, you will need to register and pay a $45 fee to confirm that you will actually be attending.
Step I: Application
- Dates: August 26, 2024 – October 23, 2024 at 5:00pm ET (2:00pm PT)
- Instructions:
- Undergraduate Students: if you are an undergraduate interested in applying to attend the 2025 APS CU*iP at UCSD, please log in to myAPS account to apply on the APS website by October 23, 2024. If you don’t have an account, you may create one.
- Non-Student Participants: If you are a faculty member, chaperone, or other non-undergraduate who wishes to attend the 2025 APS CU*iP at UCSD, please complete the non-undergraduate form by December 6, 2024.
- Cost: Application to CU*iP is free.
Step II: Registration
- Dates: November 12, 2024 – December 4, 2024 at 5:00pm ET (2:00pm PT)
- Instructions:
You will receive an email from APS on November 12, 2024. If you are accepted to a CU*iP site, the email will contain instructions on how to register for that site including the deadline to do so. You must register by the deadline contained in the confirmation email or your acceptance will be void and the CU*iP spot you were offered will be offered to a wait-listed student. - Cost: Registration of CU*iP requires a $45 fee.
- Fee Waivers: If your department is not covering the registration fee, and the $45 fee is causing financial hardship, you may request a fee waiver by contacting women@aps.org to request a registration fee waiver form. Please note, fee waiver requests must be made two days in advance of the registration deadline.
